These are the only arcs for the Suzuki Intruder VZR1800 / M1800R or Boulevard M109R, which are manufactured by the Suzuki factory as additional equipment. The secret of these arcs is the increased thickness (1.5 inches = 38 mm, compared with the usual thickness of arcs for motorcycles 1.2 inches = 32 mm), and the system of fasteners calculated by engineers on the motorcycle frame. Due to the above advantages, these arcs work as bumpers, not bending over when falling and protecting the bike's engine.
Please note that the Chinese forgery of these arcs is precisely determined by the fact that their thickness is not 38, but 32 mm, although in the picture the sellers of the arcs, most often, are represented by photos of the original ones!
The fact is that due to the heavy weight of this legendary motorcycle, driver protection, as the main function of safety arcs, is losing relevance... The explanation is simple: the wider the arc and the greater the weight of the motorcycle, the easier it bends ("lever effect") and it can clamp the driver's leg... Suzuki engineers decided that in this case it is necessary to protect not the driver, who should leave such a motorcycle as soon as possible in a fall, but the most expensive thing for this bike is the engine, as well as strengthen the frame! Thus, all other models of safety arches installed on Suzuki VZR1800 / M1800R / M109R are considered decorative to a greater or lesser extent... The degree of "decorativeness" depends on the width of the arcs and their attachment points.
